CHICAGO, IL, October 10, 2001 – Shopping centers across the nation are pulling together to assist the families of those affected by the tragic events of September 11. Ford City Mall is participating in this industry-wide collaboration by becoming a collection point for monetary donations to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and the United We Stand Fund.

People wishing to make contributions are invited to visit the Customer Service Center at Ford City Mall. Only contributions by check are accepted, and checks should be made payable to either the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund or the United We Stand Fund.

The American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund is providing support for people in need following the tragedies at the Pentagon and in New York City. Contributions collected will help the Red Cross respond to the needs of those directly and indirectly affected by these tragedies. The United We Stand Fund has been established to assist the families of the uniformed officers in New York who lost their lives September 11. One hundred percent of the funds collected will be directed to the families of these fallen officers.

Fundraising efforts will continue at Ford City Mall through October 31, 2001. For more information, visit Ford City Mall’s website at www.shopfordcity.com and click on the American Red Cross and United We Stand links.
